Positions Available
Coming soon - Lab Tech Position
We anticipate recruiting a research technician to organize the lab, handle ordering and inventory, and conduct experiments. The incumbant will help set up the laboratory, manage transport of stored equipment and supplies to the Research Campus, and help maintain a productive working environment in the lab.
Student Programmer(s) - Java User Interfaces for Bioinformatics Applications
We are recruiting student Java programmer(s) to develop data display software for genomics using the Genoviz SDK, an open source Java library for building zoomable, interactive genome maps. (See: http://www.bioviz.org for progress we've made thus far.) All students involved in the project will have the opportunity to publish original work and build credentials in bioinformatics software development. Applicants should be familiar with graphical user interface development in Java, usability assessment techniques, and collaborative programming with cvs or subversion. Please note that because these are student positions, we do not expect applicants to be experts in all areas, but the ability to read documentation and use it to master new areas and techniques is absolutely crucial. Deep knowledge of molecular biology and genomics would be helpful but are not strictly necessary.
